Earth Native Wilderness School


Give your child the ultimate adventure this summer with our Wilderness Skills overnight camp! Guided by our expert outdoor instructors, your child will learn some awe-inspiring outdoor survival skills and gain a new way to connect to the natural world. Wilderness skills are a great way to help your child build confidence in the outdoors all while increasing their overall self-confidence. Your child will leave this course with some unique skills that they can be proud of. The kids will learn to build their own shelters, to source materials from the landscape to aid in their quest for greater self-reliance, and how to use problem solving to create and use tools gathered from the landscape, all while increasing their connection to the world around them. Camp Skills and Activities include: Fire by friction and match How to build effective natural shelters Coal burning wooden spoons Making rope with plants Interpreting wildlife tracks and animal behavior Finding, collecting and purifying water Natural navigation Identifying and harvesting common wild edible plants Knife and tool safety Awareness and avoidance of natural hazards This is an overnight camp. Food is provided starting Monday evening through breakfast/morning snack on Friday. Campers must provide their own tent and sleeping gear. We do have a limited amount of tents, sleeping mats, blankets and knives for use for a small additional fee. Please choose your rentals during registration
